Leonardo De Lorenzo, batterista, compositore.

Dal 1985 svolge intensa attività concertistica e didattica.

Ha tenuto un laboratorio stabile di percussioni e musica d’insieme presso la Casa Circondariale di Lauro(Av) dal 2004 al 2012, ha fatto parte del corpo docenti dell’orchestra-laboratorio di scrittura e improvvisazione jazz “Ismez jazz Ensemble” e conduce nelle scuole medie ed elementari, vari laboratori, legati all’insegnamento della musica ed alla costruzione di strumenti di diverse tipologie attraverso l’utilizzo di materiali di risulta.

Ha registrato numerosi dischi in qualità di collaboratore e come autore.

A suo nome infatti tre CD intitolati “Entropia” (2006 ed. domanimusica)  “Pictures” (2010 ed.skydoo) e “nice to meet you”(2012 ed.videoradio) con Enzo orefice e guido Russo come co-leader ed il sassofonista internazionale Jerry Popolo come guest.

Sempre a suo nome il Video batteristico “My point of view”, storia della batteria raccontata-suonata in quattro tappe fondamentali, partendo al contrario, cioè dalla musica moderna per arrivare alle origini della Madre Africa.

Il DVD nasce dalla sua Tesi di Laurea interamente dedicata alla storia della batteria in un secolo di percussione, dai primi vagiti del jazz alle nuove tendenze fusion. "Il mio percorso conoscitivo è proceduto al contrario, nel senso che, jazzisticamente, ho conosciuto prima i batteristi moderni e poi quelli che avevano fatto la storia del jazz e quindi contribuito a creare una tradizione.

Quattro brani per quattro approcci e stili diversi, con apposite presentazioni che introducono lo spettatore ad un approfondito studio del ritmo, dei tempi e delle combinazioni. Il drum & bass di Syncopations e il celebre tema Rollinsiano di Oleo che rivive in Swing Vamp, il groove funk e le sovrapposizioni di Seven Vs. Four, i travolgenti riferimenti afro di Jungle Train. My Point of View è un'osservazione del batterista partenopeo sull'universo del ritmo, ma anche un ideale omaggio a grandi e influenti figure come Buddy Rich, Art Blakey e Elvin Jones.

Gave a stable laboratory percussion and chamber music at the Penitentiary of Lauro (Av) from 2004 to 2012, he was part of the faculty orchestra-writing workshop and jazz improvisation "Ismez jazz ensemble" and leads in elementary and middle schools, various workshops, related to the teaching of music and the construction of instruments of various types through the use of waste materials.
He has recorded several albums as a collaborator and as an author.
In fact, his name three CDs titled "Entropy" (2006 ed. Domanimusica) "Pictures" (2010 ed.skydoo) and "nice to meet you" (2012 ed.videoradio) with Enzo guido Russian goldsmith and co-leader and Jerry People as a guest.
Also in his name the drumming Video "My point of view", recounted the history of the battery-played in four basic stages, starting on the contrary, that is, from modern music to get to the origins of Mother Africa.
The DVD comes from his Thesis dedicated to the history of the battery in a century of percussion, from the first stirrings of jazz fusion to new trends. "My cognitive process is conducted on the contrary, in the sense that, jazzisticamente, I met the first modern drummers and then those who made the history of jazz and then helped create a tradition.
Four songs for four different styles and approaches, with special presentations that introduce the viewer to a thorough study of rhythm, timing and combinations. The drum & bass of Syncopations and the famous theme Rollinsiano of Oleo that lives in Swing Vamp, the groove funk and overlapping Vs Four Seven, the overwhelming references to African Jungle Train. My Point of View is an observation of the Neapolitan drummer universe of rhythm, but also an ideal gift for young and influential figures such as Buddy Rich, Art Blakey and Elvin Jones.
